This past week gave a lot of opportunity for reflection on the truth of these inspired words: "Every good gift and every perfect present is from above, coming down from the Father of the celestial lights, who does not vary or change like the shifting shadow" ( James 1:17 )
Jehovah is the ultimate gift-giver and many of his gifts are totally unexpected - gotta love a surprise!
This week we welcomed new ones to our congregation and at the same time shared our last meeting (for now!) with some very special friends who are starting the next chapter in their adventures in Jehovah's service. There is an ebb and flow in just about every aspect of life, and people certainly follow that motion. They motivate us, inspire us, comfort us, forgive us, help us see our potential and find the courage to reach out for it. Whether directly or indirectly (Gen 1:27), they are impelled to do this by the Greatest Gift Giver. As time goes on I perceive this more frequently and my heart overflows with gratitude for this arrangement and the privilege we each have to be part of the infinite ebb and flow. =) People are a gift, a very good gift... in fact a perfect present from Jehovah. Hey Friends!
A lot of us have exciting changes coming up and we will soon have the privilege to be part of a new congregation or have new brothers and sisters joining our current congregation! Isn't it thrilling to be part of this arrangement and see how Jehovah takes care of us, helps us adapt to changes, and in retrospect we always see the wisdom and blessings of the adjustments! Still, anything new brings a range of emotions: excitement, anticipation, anxiety, maybe even insecurity, not to mention saudades, just to name a few. At the same time it brings us a priceless gift: an opportunity to learn and grow, an opportunity to trust in Jehovah and let our obstacles be his opportunities! We all are essential in our congs and play a pivotal role in helping one another. There's probably someone in your cong who actually needs YOU to blossom. Maybe you have a shared life experience, maybe you are the mother or father they never had, maybe you see strengths they don't see in themself and you know what? Maybe there is someone there who is going to help you bloom too! In fact, I'm sure of it.
