How To Leave Room For Gifts & Souvenirs | Convention Packing Tips

It's easy to overpack for any trip, but it's especially important to pack strategically and light when going to an international convention or a special convention. You may have long travel days, multiple flights, and it can get tiring no matter how young you may be. The lighter you pack the better. You can get in an out of airports more quickly, spend less on checking luggage, and so on. When you're packing you may choose to bring something small in size and lightweight to gift to the friends you meet. Things like pins, bookmarks, magnets, pens and the like have been popular. This is great for packing, but have you thought about leaving room for things you will be bringing home from the convention?

What might you bring home from the convention?

The local brothers and sisters are excited to see you and want you to feel loved and welcomed. Many of them will have prepared heartfelt gifts for you. The branch will also have prepared some welcome bags for you to make your convention experience smooth and memorable. You may also do some shopping for your own souvenirs or for friends and family back home. Account for this when you do your packing.

There's more happiness in giving!

There is more happiness in giving. This is so true and you will believe it more than ever after attending a special convention or international convention. have you ever thought about this: The more space you use in your suitcase to take gifts, treats, etc for the friends in the convention city, the more room you'll have to bring things home!

This past year we traveled carry-on only to a Special Convention. The entire left side of my away carry-on (the side with the zipper in the photo above) was filled with convention gifts. This worked out well because once the gifts were shared with the friends, it opened up half a suitcase!
