This coverage provides reimbursement for damage due to collision or theft for most rental vehicles when traveling in the US and abroad. In the US, this coverage supplements your auto insurance coverage. Abroad, you do not have to claim payment from any other source of insurance before receiving coverage under this benefit. Initiate and complete the entire rental transaction using the Chase Sapphire card and decline the rental company's collision damage waiver or loss damage waiver.

If a covered loss prevents you from traveling on or before the departure date and you have to cancel your trip, you can be reimbursed under the Trip Cancellation Insurance. If a cover loss happens on the way to the point of departure or after departure caused your trip to be interrupted, or if you have to pay fees to change the date of your trip, this is covered under the Trip Interruption Insurance. This insurance covers travel arrangements paid for by your Chase Sapphire card or with your Chase Rewards points. (so even if your trip was "free" because you used points, you can still have this coverage!) Reimbursement is secondary to any other travel insurance you may carry. This could be handy for someone who is not tech savvy to research online themselves.

The Baggage Delay Insurance that comes with your Chase Sapphire Preferred Travel Credit Card covers the Cardholder, Cardholder's spouse, and any immediate family members. If your bag is delayed or misdirected for more than 6 hours by a common carrier (airline, bus, cruise ship, train) while on a covered trip (one you booked with your Chase Sapphire card or Chase Ultimate Rewards Points), you can be reimbursed for purchasing essential items like toiletries, clothing, and one cell phone charging cable.
